In Memoriam
Joseph V. Battipaglia

Stifel Nicolaus, the Washington Crossing Adivsors team, and the entire financial services industry lost one of its most valued and recognizable figures when Joseph V. Battipaglia passed away very suddenly in 2011. Joe was the Chief Investment Officer and public face of Stifel’s Washington Crossing Advisors team, and served as market strategist for Stifel Nicolaus’ Private Client Group.

Joe Battipaglia was known for his calm presence and deep institutional knowledge of Wall Street, the economy, and securities markets. Joe was a man of exceptional intellect, integrity, and character. He was also an esteemed colleague, friend, and mentor of Kevin Caron and Chad Morganlander, who will continue the WCA mission serving the needs of investors.

Joe’s wisdom and experience were instrumental in developing not only Washington Crossing's investment strategies, but also in assembling the team of talented and dedicated professionals who have long been critical to Washington Crossing’s decision-making process. Kevin Caron and Chad Morganlander worked closely with Joe for more than 20 years, including the last 10 as Portfolio Managers with day-to-day responsibility for asset allocation and security analysis and selection.
